did not see my mother again. But Grand Mother kept me safe and fed. She is never neglectful of her many children. She is never angry with them, though some mistake her mirth for thunder. Some mistake her spangled dance for ire. But Grand Mother is never angry with her children. Only sometimes does she in her gaiety forget how small and weak we are. 

Then when Grand Mother wears her circle skirt and dances fast we hide in our nests. Then we wait in our burrows until she tires.
